Jana is originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, and moved to North Carolina in 2018 with her family. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice as well as a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling both from the University of Scranton. She has been a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor since 2011. During her master’s program she worked with those struggling with addiction as well as first time offenders in the criminal justice system. Jana started her career as a mobile therapist working with individuals on the autism spectrum as well as running a social group and respite group. She has experience as a behavioral specialist. She continued her career by working as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for those who are blind and visually impaired for six years. She then worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for transition-aged youth and assisted hundreds of clients to obtain and maintain successful employment while having a disability. She has also worked with families in learning skills to become a better family unit as well as families dealing with the stress of having a family member with a disability.
She spends her free time with her beautiful family–her husband of 10 years and three amazing kids. She is a proud autism mom and brings that life perspective to her work. She is a proud Girl Scout leader and leads her troop in volunteer and community events. She is also a huge fan of Pure Barre.
