Individual counseling is a one on one process where clients work to achieve their personal therapeutic goals through an approach tailored to their specific needs.

Clinical intervention can have several different focuses, including:

  • Solving a specific problem or issue and preventing that specific problem or issue from recurring
  • Improving your loved ones potential to deal with the behaviors, thoughts and/or feelings that are causing them difficulty
  • Helping your loved one find mental balance, peace, and happiness in their life to cope with their circumstances

Individualized intensive outpatient therapy designed especially to meet the specific needs of the client and their mental health recovery. This program consists of 6 weeks with a minimum of 5 hours of therapeutic work, 3 one on one therapy sessions a week, in conjunction with journaling exercises, evidence based therapy homework, and wellness engagement. Regular substance screening offered as necessary. Following this 6 week therapeutic process, progress will be assessed and next steps planned and recommended.

Family counseling is tailored to treat issues that may arise between spouses, parents, children, and siblings. We will address these conflicts on an individual level as well as in a family dynamic in order to improve communication and achieve a sense of togetherness.

Consulting with a Life Coach can help you combat stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, body image and even simple misdirection. Optimal balance and health in life come from mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Brittany Todd is a Gabrielle Bernstein Level One trained Life Coach; Brittany can help you work through blocks in order to reach your full potential, satisfaction and happiness in life.

We remember most how something or someone made us feel. Our body and mind respond to stimuli in a way that can elicit a ripple effect on our day and those we interact with throughout the day. Our environment has a strong link to our mental and emotional state. Our surroundings stimulate all of our senses simultaneously, and can quickly evoke a positive or negative emotional response in people. What we surround ourselves with and how we function in the spaces we frequent has a direct impact on how we feel.

Research has supported the importance of creative, mindful, and authentic expressive design of the spaces we spend intentional time in. By using psychology and emotional identification to design creative spaces, our comfort, satisfaction, peace, and inspiration can flourish and grow. Simply small changes to colors, room layout, textures, fabrics, and meaningful art pieces can easily improve a person’s mood and evoke positive feelings and behaviors. Color, lighting, placement of furnishings, artwork and objects and how they authentically speak to you affects how we feel in a space. In fact, multiple studies have illustrated through the research of neuroscience, that viewing art that is meaningful to us can even evoke the same emotions as falling in love.

Brittany Todd, Founder | CEO | LCMHC of B Balanced, has a creative eye and passion for the design of authentic, beautiful, and intentional spaces. When working with clients on the planning and design of their spaces, Brittany dives into their passions and unique traits, discovering creative and affordable ways to incorporate these elements into their environment. Brittany and her clients work together in consultation, design, budgeting, furnishing, and decorating the desired spaces to create a positive and functional environment that can support positive mental health and growth.

Navigating Nerves

Therapeutic Groups

September 28th from 5:00 – 6:00

CBT Group

Hosted by Katie Davin, LCMHC

The last few years have been brutal for us all, especially our children! B Balanced hopes to support teens in the community through facilitating a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) informed group focused on improving stress and anxiety management skills. This 7-week series will cover basic anxiety and stress psychoeducation and foster positive coping strategies so that group members can get a better handle on their nerves. Through participation in various discussions and exercises in the company of peers, Navigating Nerves will simultaneously cultivate a positive environment that works to build a solid support system for each member. Managing anxiety is hard, managing it alone is even harder!

Navigating Nerves is recommended for children between 11-14 years old. This group will also require the full 7-week commitment and will be a “closed” group, meaning spots are limited. Give our office a call at 336-607-5822 or email at hello@bbalancedcounseling.com to learn more and to see if this group is the right fit for your teen!

Couples Support Group

Hosted by Michael Smith – Clinical Care Manager, LMFTA and Brittany Todd – Founder & CEO and LCMHC.

No matter what the media shows you, no couple is perfect. Every relationship, even the very best ones, have their moments, but the ones who can weather the storms and droughts are usually the ones who seek guidance. This group setting allows couples to work alongside other couples who face similar challenges in their relationship. The increased support helps members to feel less alone in their relationship struggles and explore new strategies for connecting.

This group will meet each week on Thursday mornings from 8:30 – 9:30am. There will be no fees associated with this group, but donations are welcome.

The Mental Matchup

Episode 30 - Brittany Todd

This week’s episode of The Mental Matchup features Brittnay Todd, who is the owner and clinical director of B Balanced Counseling & Wellness. Brittany attended the University of Florida where she achieved her bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Psychology, while competing as a swimmer. Brittany was an Olympic Trial swimmer in 2000 and 2004 and competed in NCAA’s, but dealt with a variety of mental health challenges during her swimming career including eating disorders, depression, and bipolar disorder. When her career ended due to a shoulder injury, she dealt with the difficulties of losing her identity as an athlete. As a former elite athlete, and someone who was involved in sport from a very early age, Brittany continues to be inspired by the connection of the body and mind in her practice as a psychotherapist. In 2017 Brittany graduated from Walden University with master’s level degrees in both Clinical Psychology and Clinical Counseling to establish a private counseling practice. Through Brittany’s own personal experiences in her mental health struggles, as well as her education, she is able to provide incredibly diverse and valuable information during this episode.
