Caitlin's diverse life experiences and broad range of interests aid her in connecting with many different types of clients, and provide the backbone for her counseling style. She has worked with young children all the way up to middle adults, with a special passion for young adults and college students. She has experience working in the school setting as a school counseling intern, where she provided individual & group counseling in a K-8 setting, advocated on behalf of students, and collaborated with families and other school staff. Caitlin has worked in community mental health as a social worker at a behavioral health clinic, where she served a range of clients presenting with a wide array of diagnoses through providing case management and leading rehabilitation groups. She has also spent time abroad in Spain helping children and adolescents practice English. Some of the most common themes she works together with clients on are anxiety, depression, self-esteem, behavioral concerns, identity exploration, interpersonal challenges, life transitions, trauma, and women's issues. Some of the therapeutic modalities she gravitates toward in sessions include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy (NT). Caitlin also enjoys implementing mindfulness techniques in session with clients. She is passionate about neurodiversity and the LGBTQ+ population.
Originally from the metro Atlanta area, Caitlin received her B.A. in Psychology from Auburn University. She then moved to North Carolina to pursue her M.A. in Professional School Counseling at Appalachian State University. She relocated to Winston-Salem to begin her postgraduate life & career and is excited to form long-lasting roots in the community!
